African Proverb #10

An intelliget enemy is better than a stupid friend.

I think if you have and intelligent enemy they would keep you on point. If you have a stupid friend they might just be there to take up space or something. If you have a smart enemy and they know that your friend is stupid they could be able to turn your friend against you. A smart enemy is a person who can use anything against you thats why you must sytay on point. If you have a stupid friend they're just a person there to try and be down or something. I think your intelligent enemies can become faster friends than a stupid one. A stupid friend can become an enemy over anything because they..........are just stupid.

I can't relate myself to this proverb because I think all my friends are smart. My friends are the type who stay loyal and true. If you have a friend that's not those two things then they are probably not your true friends. I do have enemies but most of them are stupid because if you claim someone your enemy because they wear nice clothes or get money then that's stupid because you can do the same thing. I don't worry about any of my friends being stupid because I keep my friends close and my enemies closer. I don't like to say I have enemies because life is to short to worry about one person when there is like a trillion people on this planet. I just look at them and keep moving. It's the same thing for friends, there are way more people out there who I could replace a friend with. Some of the people I replace of friend with might even be better.

African Proverb #8

Knowledge is like a garden, if it is not cultivated, it can not be harvested

I think this means that if we do not teach the knowledge we know it ould not go out to other people. If I knew something that everyone did'nt I would share it with some one because what a I know might be able to change the world or cure a disease or something like that. If I share what I know people might use that to build something or change their liefestyle or something.

This proverb is used in our everyday life. We might not know it but it is. We even use it sometimes, we use it in school, we use it a work, or we might use it at home. Everyone knows things and put it out even if it's something little. Like how to build a car. That is another way people use it. Someone has the knowledge of building a car and they tell other people how to do it. The people who learn it also teaches other people so it keeps going out to other people. Something like a tradition or family name r something.

African Proverb #7

A person who knows proverbs can reconcile differences.

I think this proverbs means that a person who has knowledge of all the provebs or just the ones they can use in their everyday life they can determine what positive things they can do and what would be the wrong things for them. For example if a person understands the meaning of "what goes around comes around" they would know if they do the right thing it will come back good to them.

A person can use this in their everyday life by doing using these proverbs to separate the posotives from the negative. If a person knows that if he commits an action that would come back negativly upon them they would'nt do it at all because they understand that these proverbs can really mean something in a person's life.

African Proverb #6

It is better to be loved than feared.

I think this proverb means that if you are feared people would feel uncomfortable around and that would cause less be to want to be near you but if you are loved everyone would be friendly to you and everyone would enjoy being around you. THis can be used in a persons everyday life because some people confuse fear with love.

If a person is feared they are not loved, they are the opposte. The people who fear you try to stay away from you and when you are not around you they talk negativly about you. The people you are love by love being close to you. They like talking with you or just hanging out. When you not around they tell thier friends how much of a great person you are and that would be a way for you to get even more good friends.

Study Strategies-Multiple Choce Questions

Multiple choice quetions usually include a phrase or sem followed by three to five options.

Test Strategies:
Read the directions carefully
Know if each question has one or more correct option.
Know if you are penalized for guessing
Know how much time is alotted(this governs your strategy)
Preview the test
Read through the test quickly and answer the easiest questions just.
Mark three you think you know in some way that is appropriate.
Read through the test a second time and answer more dificult questions.
You may pick up cues for answers from the list reading or become more comfortable in the testing situation.

Extra Money

If I had $100,000 give away I would invest it into a program or something that helps cure diseases for people who are sick. There are alot of hospitals who are poor and don't have the money to get the right equipment they need to look at and examine the viruses and atoms you need to see how to get them out of someones body.

Another thing I would do is invest my money into a law school. When I get older I would like to go to a law school so before I get there I would want to know everything there is to know about law. Maybe if I invest my money by the time I do be able to go to law school I would at least be close to a degree in law. By the time I am lawyer or something I might be gettting more money just for investing it when I was younger.

African Proverb #5

"The fool speaks, the wise person listens"

I think this African Proverb means that a wise person would rather be thought of as a fool than prove that he is one. A wise person listens and work things out but a fool just talks and sometimes don't know what they are talking about. We can use this in our everyday life because we can listen more to be more smart. If we listen we would know what to say, when to say it.

Study Strategies-True Or False Questions

True or False Test
Everypart of a true sentence must be "true".
If any one part of the sentence is false, the whole sentence is false despite any other true statements. Absolute words restrict possibilities. "No,Never,None, always, entirely, only." Imply the statement must be true 100% part time and usually indicate "false" answers. Long sentences after include groups of words out of by punctuation pay attention to the "truth" of each of those phrases. If one is false, it usually indicates a "false" answer.

Pay close attention to negatives, qualifiers absolutes, and long strings of statements.
Negatives can be confusing
If the question contains negatives,as open "no,not, can not" drop the negative and read what remains. Decides wether that sentence is true or false. If it is true, opposite, or negative, it's usually false.

qualifiers are words thats restrict or open up general statements
Words like "sometimes, often, frequently, ordinarily, generally" open up the possibilities of making accurate statements. They make more modest claims, are to reflect reality, and usually indicate true answers.

African Proverb #4

"One camel does not laugh at another camel's hump"

I think this african proverb means that we should'nt laugh at one another because in one way or another we are all the same. For example if you laugh at someone who is'nt smart there will always be another person who is smarter than you. There is always someone the same and there is always someone bigger and better than you. If someone was laughing at you about how you look or about how smart you are you would'nt like it but at the same time someone might be smarter or look better than them.

This african proverb means that if you learn something you might teach it to someone else. I can use this in my everyday life by teaching the things that I was tought. If a teacher did'nt learn anything they would'nt be able to teach it to their students.

african Proverb #2

"Cross the river in a crowd and the crocodile won't eat us"
What does the Proverb mean to you? How can you use it in your
everyday life? Give an example.

I think this proverb means that if we try to do something all together we would have a good chance at getting it done. FLor example if we all want a president to win an election we most likely would pick him. Another example is if we want to achieve something and we all do it together we would have a less chance in failing.

African Proverbs

"Knowledge is better than riches"
What does that African Proverb mean to you?
How can it be used in your everyday life. Give an example

It seems that the african proverb "knowlege is better than riches" means that being smart and knowing a lot is more powerful than money. For someone to have riches they have to know how to do something in order to get that money. Anything you do you have to have knowledge in order to know what you are doing or to get it right. I think this can be used in everyday life because if you have job you have to know what you're doing to get paid. If you have enough knowledge you would'nt have to worry about riches because it should come to you easy.
